In 2009 a small airplane with medical missionaries Bob Norton and his wife Neiba Norton went missing over the jungles of Venezuela. Search efforts turned up no sign of the small aircraft in the dense jungle but a team here in the United States is still working to find them. The Bob Norton Search Team will be returning to Venezuela mid February with new technology to aid in the search. The team is developing remote controlled search vehicles using cameras, sensors, and model aircraft. These devices will be able to fly low over the jungle and target points of interest that may have been identified through satellite imaging. There will be a benefit dinner on Saturday, February 4th at Riegeldale Tavern in Trion Georgia beginning at 5:30 pm. Proceeds from the benefit dinner will help fund the search efforts. Contact Tracy at 706-676-6650 for reservations. Around and About is a production of WUTC in Chattanooga.
